Overcoming Death - Meeting Dhan Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji
The greatness of Dhan Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji cannot be described by mere mortals like us. We can sing His Glories every moment. We can consume every paper and every drop of ink still the work will be incomplete. Even if we use every byte to capture His Qualities, we will run out of all the digital memory present and made available in future. How? Before digging into it I will like to quote following words of Sant Singh Ji Maskin once I heard:
Meeting Dhan Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji not only overcomes the all powerful Messenger of Death but it also beats him up. An individual becomes free from all Death related fears. No questions will be asked in the Court of Lord and safe passage will be provided. It is like acquitting of all charges against an individual without facing a trial. Everyone of us is loaded with sin and still saved that is beauty of meeting of Dhan Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Again the question is how to meet Him since He does not exist any more in physical form in 21st Century. Well, one can all only meet Dhan Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji by attaching oneself to His Baani and ‘Who’ possesses all His Baani? Well, the answer is Dhan Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. No living guru of current time can possess it so it is wasteful effort to attach oneself to any impostor. Also, impostor is just worried about his Death, how could he save any one. Does he attach anyone to ‘The One’? Nah he just attaches everyone to himself. Baba Nanak keep blessing us with Your Grace so we always walk towards ‘You’ under divine light of Dhan Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. “We may count how many stars (Taare)
in this universe, but we can never count how many have been salvaged (Taare)
by Guru
Nanak.”
We have used all the available computing
power to determine what lays behind stars. And it is not possible in near
future to exactly determine the count of stars. So how could we ever determine
the number of entities – including all living and non-living salvaged by Dhan
Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji using same computing power? ‘He,
Who’
has saved so many creations how much ‘quality’ He would possess. After
all no single entity can be taken to state of liberation by collective qualities
i.e. every entity has to be convinced since it has its own comprehension, own
states of existence. Making everything to converge needs understanding of everyone’s
ability, knowledge of its states, past-present-future, and then having self-ability
to bring them to higher state of consciousness! So how much data will be that,
how much computation will it require, can we meet it? Never! That
is beauty of Dhan Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji… Dhan Guru Nanak… Dhan
Guru Nanak…
So are we limited? We are not limited
but we have decided to be limited. Our means and efforts are focused on finding
matter, establishing some law how the forces of nature works and spend life times
in proving it. What have we found? Just Infinite, the very infinite which has
been described by ‘The Greatest Guru’ in His Baani! Also, we are so
pre-occupied, should I say seduced by logic that what happens in the deepest realm
of consciousness we may never know. What matters to us are numbers that look good
on papers, what matters to us is size. Till we ignore macro how the micro will
be visible. And once the destiny is awakened an individual meets Guru
Nanak as per following words by Dhan Shri Guru Raam Das Ji and Dhan
Shri Guru Arjan Dev Ji:
धुरि मसतकि हरि प्रभ लिखिआ गुर नानक मिलिआ आइ ॥जमकंकर मारि बिदारिअनु हरि दरगह लए छडाइ ॥
(Those who have
such pre-ordained destiny written upon their foreheads by the Lord God, come to
meet Guru
Nanak.
The
Messenger of
Death is beaten and driven away; we
are saved in the Court of the Lord.)
ਹਰਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਜਿਨ ਪਰਸਿਅਉ ਸਿ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਦੁਹ ਥੇ
ਰਹਿਓ ॥੫॥[2]
हरि गुरु नानकु जिन परसिअउ सि जनम मरण दुह थे रहिओ ॥५॥
(Whoever
meets with the Lord through Guru Nanak is rid of both birth and death.)
