Summary
Dhan Shri Guru Raam Das Ji emphasizes
further that devotion to ‘The Guru’ is everything. An individual may travel the
entire Earth in search of ‘something – this can be truth, wealth etc.’ but still
nothing is as great as ‘Guru’s Feet’. And such understanding only comes to those
who are under ‘HIS Grace’. Also, eyes are being used for seeing the world but
Guruji is asking to take them out and place at Guru’s Feet. Well, this
signifies, for true seeker what matters is his Guru. And he does not want to
see anything other than Him. And Guru can also be seen with ‘Eyes of Consciousness’.
If He resides in mind then nothing else is desired by the seeker. Also, what
good are those eyes which keep an individual entangled in worldly affairs? Is
not better to give them up and find ‘eyes’ which only seek ‘The Guru’?
When an individual gets something, he
has tendency to forget ‘The Giver’. He promotes himself. But Guruji says if
Guru grants greatness by asking a seeker to sit near Him, a true seeker only
worships and adores Him. Seeker does not pay any attention to his achievement
but only focus on his Guru’s Feet. And again it is human tendency to give up
faith when adversity strikes or world offers only criticism. Thus, Guruji says
even if Guru beats a true seeker and drives him out, he will still meditate on Him.
Every action of Guru has meaning, how could ‘A Realized Soul – Universal Consciousness’
can act with ignorance? So, if He does that then one should understand, it is
just for his benefit.
Guruji emphasizes that if people
praises a seeker, it should not go to his head. Else he may become victim of
‘Latent Ego’. It is very important to surrender such praises to Guru. After
all, a seeker cannot achieve anything without His grace, something he has to
remember always. All the praises are His. And again Guruji says, even if the world
slander the seeker, he does not leave his Guru. Also, when the world criticizes
an individual, the refuge can only be found at Guru’s Feet. Since, Guru is so
great He does not criticizes anyone even if an individual fails to deliver
the most trivial tasks. In fact He just smiles and motivates to do it in better
way.
Under the Grace of Guru, the seeker
does not care what others have to say about him. Only thing he prays that he
should never forget the Guru. Guruji has compared this with death. A dead body
has no liveliness and eventually it begins to rot giving out foul smell. Similarly,
a seeker who forgets his Guru looses all the sparkle and gets filled with filth
and filth stinks. What good is such individual? What good is it mental state? Can he be called alive?
Guruji further say, be a sacrifice to
Guru, fall at his feet. Raise thirst to such level that state of insanity which only
longs for blessed vision of 'Lord’s Darshan'.
